Desmos SAT Hacks: Save 15 Minutes on Math

When given a table of values or coordinate points and asked for the equation, create a table in Desmos (type "table"), enter the points in x1 and y1, then type the regression formula with tilde (~). Desmos instantly calculates m, b, a, and vertex values without any manual factoring.

Never use substitution or elimination by hand. Type both equations exactly as written. Click the gray dot at the intersection point. The coordinates (x, y) appear immediately.

Type the quadratic function. Click the peak/valley to read the maximum or minimum (vertex). Click the x-intercepts to read the real solutions immediately.

When a question asks "For what value of k does the equation have no solutions?", type the equation with k. Desmos prompts "add slider: k". Slide k until the graphs become parallel (no intersection) or overlap completely (infinite solutions).
