The ACT comprises 4 multiple-choice sections (215 questions total): English (75 questions, 45 min), Math (60 questions, 60 min), Reading (40 questions, 35 min), and Science (40 questions, 35 min), plus an optional 40-minute Writing essay.
Unlike the SAT, the ACT contains a dedicated Science section and tests advanced trigonometry and geometry without a reference sheet.
